About Me & URBAN EXPLORATION (UE).....

Hello!!! Thanks for visiting my site. For anyone who's interested, below is a little bit of background as to what I think Urban Exploration is all about & what it means to me. Also my own personal list of UE "do's" and "don'ts". I don't expect everyone who visits this site to agree with what I do, but I hope it'll go some way to explaining why I enjoy UE and why I think it's important. From a very early age, I'd always been very curious when seeing an old building, thinking to myself "I wonder where that leads to?" or "what's in there?" Now all grown up (well, perhaps I'm just a big kid at heart), my work often takes me into some interesting buildings, sometimes old houses & even the odd water tower!!! The Towns, Cities & Villages around us are changing at a rapid rate, and this includes buildings, structures & sites, some of which, I believe are of historical & architectural importance, and if no use can be found, should be recorded or documented in some way. Every place has a story to tell, brings back memories for someone. Urban Exploration to me, is a way to photograph as much as I can, with the intention of preserving part of our built & social history, before all traces are lost forever, due to vandalism, neglect, the elements, or demolition. In a way, what I do provides others who might be interested in a particular place, with a way of looking around & seeing inside a place, without ever having to actually visit! So, it a nutshell, that's about it.
